Celebrating 40 years in Sarasota, Café L'Europe continues to be one of Sarasota's most beautiful and popular restaurants.
Established in 1973 in John Ringling's original real estate office, the oldest building on St. Armand's Circle, Café L'Europe has proven itself as one of Florida's most distinguished dining establishments.
The original brick walls, enhanced with featured artwork from the Café Collection, fresh flowers, archways, stained glass and Spanish terra cotta tiles provide a warm, relaxing old-world ambiance. Café L'Europe features indoor and outdoor dining as well as private dining rooms that can accommodate from 8 to 65 people.
Café L'Europe has built its remarkable reputation on continental cuisine, striking the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, featuring creative menu choices that endure time and trend.
Some of the Café's most popular items have been featured since the restaurant opened.
Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, Café L'Europe has become the area's choice for special occasion festivities as well as welcoming every day diners.
Many of the dishes are prepared table side adding drama to an already memorable event.
The award-winning cuisine is accompanied by a fine selection of wines from Europe and America all served by a highly trained and knowledgeable staff ready to pamper you.
Café L'Europe is the winner of significant awards such as The DiRona, Sarasota Magazine's Best Elegant Restaurant and Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence just to name a few.
"We aim to delight your senses and stimulate your taste buds. It's a dining experience you won't forget", promises proprietor Betsie Coolidge.
Sarasota-Manatee Originals Welcomes Café L’Europe as New Member
The Sarasota-Manatee Originals (SMO), a trade organization comprising more than 50 independent restaurants from Anna Maria to Venice, recently welcomed its newest member restaurant, Café L'Europe.
"We're thrilled that Café L'Europe has joined the Originals," says Kate Atkin, SMO's executive director. "This is a stellar restaurant joining a dynamic organization made up of our area's most trend-setting restaurants. It's a perfect fit."
Café L'Europe, a landmark destination on St. Armands Circle, is known for its old-world charm, classic European cuisine, award-winning wines, and outstanding service. Betsie Coolidge, the restaurant's owner, says that joining The Originals makes smart business sense.
"We're excited to be the newest Original," says Coolidge. "Café L'Europe has been an 'original' since we opened in 1973. We share a deep feeling of professional respect for our fellow Originals. It's a hard-working group of our area's leading restaurants, offering diverse marketing and networking potential."
Coolidge adds that the members of the Originals share a common cause. "As a group, we're passionate about celebrating—and promoting—Southwest Florida's culinary distinctiveness," she says. "The locally owned restaurant industry is such a vital part of our regional economy. Working together to keep it that way makes perfect sense."
