Terri Smith - Catering Director

Tteri smith - cafe leurope st. armands circle sarasota floridaerri Smith was born in northern Indiana just outside of Chicago and spent ten years in Colorado before residing in Sarasota Florida in 2003.

While attending Purdue for Business Management and Marketing she started her first position in the restaurant industry as an opening server for a popular restaurant chain. Shortly after starting, what she thought would be her part-time college job, she realized that she enjoyed and had a natural talent for the hospitality field.

In the twenty years she's been in the restaurant and hospitality industry she has always been quickly promoted to leadership positions. In Colorado she opened and managed a family owned steak and seafood restaurant, Pinnacle Place , which belonged to her parents. She obtained a position at the Briarhurst Manor in Manitou Springs were she assisted in planning events and was the lead banquet captain, overseeing 3-5 weddings a weekend. At the Phoenix House Hotel and Casino in Cripple Creek she obtained a position as the Assistant Food and Beverage Director and was promoted to the Food and Beverage Director position after three months of service.

In Sarasota, Terri has been the Catering Director for Café L' Europe for three of the eight years she's been with the company. At Café L' Europe she gets to focus on her favorite aspects of the hospitality business; planning and organizing all private dining group events and off premise catering events. As the Catering Director she plans and designs all event menus and timelines, staffs and manages the events for parties ranging from 10-500. She understands that every event is special and unique and enjoys working with guests to create the perfect menu for the occasion.

In the time she has been with Café L' Europe she has built a great rapport with many guests and has several repeat clients. Her goal is for every event to be more than what the guest expected and for all that attend to leave with memories that will last a lifetime. She assists in the restaurant with advertising, menu design, special events promotions, guest and public relations and reservations.

In Terri's off time she enjoys cooking, yoga, health/fitness, running, reading and most importantly spending time with her two french bulldog kids, Cruiser and Chloé.
